The Bristol walking Group is one of the largest walking groups in the country, offering about 300 walks each year to suit all preferences. Many of these walks are on Sundays, but there are also Saturday and midweek walks.
Walks range from 5 to 8 miles in Bristol and the surrounding countryside of Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire to 14+ miles of strenuous hillwalking in South Wales, the Cotswolds, Mendips and the Quantocks. In addition there are urban walks in and around Bristol, together with some themed walks that we are gradually introducing.
Generally, on Sundays we meet in Bristol (Great George Street) for car sharing to the start of a walk. Wednesday walks frequently use public transport. The walks programme lists contact details of all leaders so that any queries can be discussed prior to the walk.
You don’t have to be a member to come on one of our walks, new members are always made welcome. After three walks, if you enjoy what we do, we would ask you to formally join the Ramblers. Click here to see our tips for newcomers.
